Last night I watched a video of preacher Mr. Zakir Naik about making sculptures and drawing pictures of Human beings, birds, and other animals, etc in his million-subscribed YouTube channel. He gave a terrible fatwa of vandalizing animal's idols, sculptures, etc. and not making aesthetic sculptures anymore like the less educated Munshis.
I found it so much medieval and illogical as he mentioned one of the most notable zealots Ibn Taymiya's violent statements to support the ongoing anti-sculpture movement in Bangladesh.
I don’t believe he is all bad, he has enriched contributions fighting the islamophobic west and western hegemonic spheres. But I want to ask him, why is he silent about his (and other mullah- munshis) pictures on screens, satellites, social media, i.e. Facebook IDs, Pages and YouTube channels, etc.?
What is his fatwa about the pictures of trees those have also lives according to science?
I think, this is the most "poor/ill-logical" answer from Zakir Naik. According to those hadithes Zakir Naik's videos uploaded on YouTube, Facebook and TVs are also prohibited in Islam (Which is actually not correct). But, Idols and sculptures are not the same things, one who has abc of society and history knows it.
Can Zakir Naik answer why didn’t the Khulafaye Rashidin (the rightly guided caliphs) vandalize the sculptures of Syria (Palmyra), Egypt (Pyramids) and Iraq (Ancient sculptures of Babylon)?
It's because, at that time those were not worshipped. Same for the Khurashan's (Present Iranian-Afghanistani regions) Buddhist sculptures. Muslims even didn’t vandalize many Indian sculptures. These are the beauty of Prophet Mohammed's Islam, vandalism is the weapons of Wahabi version funded by Saudi and other gulf countries.
So, according to my understanding (Allah Knows the best), Mr Naik, you are misleading people here with the help of extremist Ibn Taymiya, who is the ideological father of the modern day Wahabi, Kharezi ISIS, Al Kayeda.
That is why Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) tells people to be patients. Lack of Patience can make people's decision making process wrong which definitely happened with Dr. Naik.
Zakir Naik is not Heavenly angel, he can also do wrong things, he can mislead people with wrong Fatwas as he Did it telling the dirty, ruthless, jalim Yazeed a 'righteous Companion of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), who (Yazid) is undoubtedly a killer, a disbeliever, a fashik who killed the most loveable persons of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in his direct order. He (Yazid) just erased the family of Prophet Mohammed PBUH. Had they live would change the entire history of Islam and muslims. So, a good Muslim who loves Muhammad PBUH, can not love Yazid Ibn Muwabiya who fought the Ahlul Bayet, the family of Muhammad PBUH.
Mr Zakir Naik, please don’t act like the uneducated Kharezi wahabis. Think rationally, speak logically.
Islam is not a religion of bigotry and chaos, It's a religion of knowledge, history, logic, peace and harmony.
